Lilydale to Yarra Glen Rail Trail
The Lilydale to Yarra Glen Rail Trail is a yet-to-be-built shared-use path along the old railway formation between Lilydale and Yarra Glen, in Melbourne's east.
Since the closure of the railway in the early 1980's, the Yarra Valley towns of Lilydale, Coldstream, Yering and Yarra Glen have only been linked by the busy and dangerous Melba Highway, The proposed rail trail will provide alternative walking and cycling access for the people of these towns and tourists alike, to some of the best wineries in the region, as well as other great Yarra Valley attractions.
